Does Gema actually have a home screen? Like does it turn on or does it just collect data for the app on my mobile device?

Gema doesn't have any screen. The device is designed to be as stressless and non-intrusive as possible, without vibration or blink. It records your activity discreetly by synchronising itself automatically with the duoveo mobile app. All the collected information is reflected visually in the duoveo’s application.

Does Gema still collect data if it is not connected to my phone? For example, if I leave my phone at home during an activity, will Gema track it?

Yes. Gema tracks your information with or without your phone. So you don't have to run the duoveo’s app on your phone daily. The data is collected regardless. Gema stores and synchronises it automatically with your smartphone.

How long is the data kept in my device with no connection with my phone?

The device can store the data for 5 days. After that the older data will be replaced by the new one collected. However as long as you carry your mobile phone and your device together, the synchronisation will happen automatically.

Which settings shall I set to get my application to run properly with GEMA.

  • IOS (application settings)

    • Battery       : unrestricted

* Location has to be set to "always", this is an Apple and Android requirement to be able to sync your device without having duoveo's application active. Duoveo will not follow or track your activities.

What happens if no synchronisation has been done?

In case no synchronisation has occurred in 3 to 5 days, the application will send you a notification to let you know that no synchronisation has been done. You can either force it (see Tutorials) or wait for the next synchronisation time to do it.

What happens when my Gema coin-cell battery is out of power ?

Gema coin-cell battery is a CR2032 battery, non-rechargeable (primary) lithium coin or “button” cell battery that is 20mm diameter x 3.2mm thickness. You can easily replace your Gema coin-cell battery (CR2032) with a new one available at most electronics and appliance stores.

Am I notified about the battery level?

In case the battery is low, you will receive a notification via email or SMS (depending on your notification choice). You can also see the battery level directly on the application.

There are 3 levels:

  • Good
  • Low : 1 month of battery life : time to order a new one.
  • Critical : 2 weeks maximum of battery : time to replace.

Can I switch wearing it from my right wrist to my left wrist?

Yes, absolutely. Wearing Gema from your right wrist or your left wrist won't impact the collected data and your wellness experience with your Gema and the duoveo app.

How do I set Gema up?

Download the duoveo app. Then, follow the app instructions to get your Gema ready. You will also find these instructions in your "Quick start guide" delivered with your Gema. It takes less than 3 minutes to set up your Gema.

I lost the instruction manual for my Gema. Where can I access this information?

Is any data shared with third parties? How long does duoveo keep my data?

No, your data isn't shared with third parties. The duoveo app is ruled by a privacy statement. You can find all the details about our privacy policy in our website. You can delete it whenever you want, with a 15 days grace period. 

Is the duoveo app available outside the US?

Yes, the duoveo application is available everywhere outside the United-States.

Does Gema work outside of the US?

Yes, as the duoveo app is available everywhere outside the United-States, it connects to Gema and uploads your health data.

Is Gema compatible with any version of IPhone/Android ?

Gema and its complementary app duoveo is compatible with IOS 11.0 and later, and also Android 7.0 and later.

Why isn't bluetooth always active?

Bluetooth wireless technology emits weak electromagnetic waves. The bluetooth of your device is therefore deactivated most of the time, especially when you are sleeping.

As a user, you can define via your duoveo application when you want the Gema's bluetooth to be active.

To set the active time for Gema’s bluetooth :

  • First, click on the Cogwheel at the top right of your screen.
  • Then, go to "My device" and choose the period when the bluetooth is active.

What happens if I forget to wear my Gema during my wellness journey?

If you forget to wear your Gema during your wellness activities but have your phone with you, duoveo's app will serve as a backup. 

What is the Gema made of?

The body and plate are made of hypoallergenic stainless steel material.

What is the band material made of?

The band is made of high quality leather and hypoallergenic.

How complicated is it to recycle GEMA?

Gema has been designed to be easily recycled. All the parts can be separated easily.

Water protection for GEMA?

Gema has been designed to support IP65. An IP65 Rating means the product has the highest level of dust protection, and is able to withstand low-pressure water jets from all directions.

Is my Gema band reversible?

No, your Gema's band is not reversible but it is interchangeable.

Can I change the backplate of my Gema?

Yes, you can order a new backplate for your Gema.
